National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are work-related, competence-based qualifications. They reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively, and show that a candidate is competent in the area of work the NVQ represents.
NVQs are based on national occupational standards. These standards are statements of performance that describe what people in a particular occupation are expected to be able to do. They cover all the main aspects of an occupation, including current best practice, the ability to adapt to future requirements and the knowledge and understanding to achieve competent performance.
Apprentices learn through a combination of on and off the job learning. On the job they work alongside your staff. Off the job they will attend one of our growing number of Training Centres (usually on a day release basis), working towards nationally recognised qualifications.
With over 180 different Apprenticeships on offer across 80 sectors of industry it really is just a case of identifying which one is right for your business. We will work with you to identify which of your current employees would benefit from one of our many Apprenticeship programs.

Apprentices work towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 2, Key Skills qualifications and in most cases a relevant technical certificate.
Advanced apprentices work towards a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 3, Key Skills qualifications and in most cases a relevant technical certificate.
